Overhead is the cost of your fixed expenses. It is an indirect sales cost, and does not vary directly with sales revenue. It includes everything not covered in Fulfillment, Marketing, Returns, COGS, and Sales & Service. Note that since Marketing is related directly to Customers, marketing expenses related to Leads and Prospects are calculated as a part of Overhead rather than as a part of Marketing. Though Overhead is technically not tied to sales revenue, we follow the common practice of calculating Overhead as a percent of Gross Sales and then charging each Customer an equal share of the Overhead. Distributing costs in this manner causes some customers to show a Profit and others a Loss. The default value for Overhead is 20.00%. When entering your own value, do not include the percent sign (%).
